Editorial rule
How we compare
Every competitor price, spec and review count on these pages was read from the vendor's own page or a live listing, and each page lists those sources with the date they were read. Prices appear in the currency they were shown in; Indian prices are import listings unless the product is sold here officially. Availability claims appear only next to their source and the date we saw them.
We concede real points. Each page has a section for where the other product wins and a section for when ours is not the right fit, written before the verdict, not after it. Verdicts are “choose A if, choose B if”, never “A wins”. Competitors are named accurately and never mocked.
Our own prices, warranty, returns and wait times on these pages come from the same configuration as Pricing and Reserve, so a change there changes every comparison at once. More about who we are on About; the ranked lists live under Alternatives.
Questions about these comparisons
Are these comparisons biased?
We sell one side of every comparison, so read them knowing that. Every page names where the other product wins, lists the concessions in its own section, says plainly when ours is the wrong choice, and dates every competitor price with a source you can open.
How often are competitor prices checked?
Quarterly, and the date of the last check is printed on each page beside its sources. Prices in the tables are the vendor's or the listing's figures on the date shown, in the currency they were shown in. If you find one that has moved, write to us and we will re-check it.
Do you compare against free apps and no-cost options?
Yes. Focus Friend is a free app, AWTRIX is free firmware, a cube timer costs less than a takeaway, and each gets a full page with the same table and the same concessions as the expensive products. If the free option is the right one for you, the page says so.
Do you compare with Indian products?
Yes: ChotuBot, the Bengaluru ESP32 robot kit, and Padmee, the desk and car dashboard companion sold on Amazon.in, each have a page against Perchi. Both are honest comparisons, and both products win on price.
What is the difference between a comparison and an alternatives guide here?
A comparison puts two products side by side (or one of ours against a small set, as the pomodoro and subscriber counter round-ups do) and ends with a verdict for each kind of buyer. An alternatives guide ranks every credible option for one search, including products we do not sell, by what the searcher said they need.
How do I suggest a comparison?
Email hello@myperchi.com with the product and, if you can, the page or listing you are looking at. We add comparisons when people actually shortlist the product against ours, and we will tell you if we decline and why.
