Desk companions
Perchi vs Eilik: the silent desk companion or the robot with servos?
Perchi and Eilik share a 128x64 OLED face and little else. Eilik ($139.99 direct, about ₹18,989 as a grey import) moves its head and arms, plays sound through a 3 W speaker and runs about 1.5 hours per charge. Perchi (₹2,999) never moves or speaks: it is a phone stand that starts a focus block and reacts to real events.

What Eilik is, and what its reviews say
Eilik is a desktop companion robot from Energize Lab in Shenzhen, sold at $139.99 (list $149.99) on the maker's store, with a two-pack at $269.98. It has a 1.54 inch 128x64 OLED face, four servos that move its head and arms, touch responses, idle animations, mini games and interactions between two units. It works without Wi-Fi, internet or an app, which is genuinely rare in this category.
The spec sheet lists a 450 mAh battery, about 1.5 hours of runtime, a 1-hour USB-C charge, a 3 W speaker and a 108 x 105 x 133 mm polycarbonate body at 230 g. The maker's store shows about 1,159 reviews, 82% of them five-star. Owners love the touch reactions, the way two Eiliks talk to each other, and the fact that it is the cheapest credible desk robot.
The complaints are consistent across that corpus. Battery is the most cited: keep it plugged in, around 90 minutes in practice. The speaker is described as surprisingly loud in quiet offices, the animations get tiring after a few days, servos are audible, and the moving parts are fragile around drops and dust.
In India there is no official channel. Amazon.in importer listings sat at about ₹18,989 on 2026-09-18, with a tracked range of ₹18,899 to ₹21,999 and no Indian warranty.
What Perchi is
Perchi is a palm-sized, silent desk companion with a 128x64 OLED face that doubles as a phone stand. Its face is parametric, with ten moods that blend rather than a sprite library that loops. Rest your phone on its back and, after a 3-second confirmation ring, a focus block starts: 25 minutes by default, any length from 5 to 120. It is ₹2,999 including GST.
While the phone stays down Perchi visibly knits a scarf, grows a sprout or builds a tower in five stages. Lift the phone and it pauses with a disappointed look; put it back within the grace period (60 seconds by default) and it sighs and carries on. A block that ends early is partial: every finished stage is kept. Finished projects go to a wardrobe, streaks earn a freeze every seven days, and daily and weekly report cards live in the dashboard. The rules are on How Phone Nap works.
Perchi also reacts to real events from 60+ integrations: a Razorpay or Stripe sale makes it party, a new subscriber makes it love-struck, a green build makes it proud and a red one makes it worry. It has no battery, no speaker, no motors, no microphone, no camera and no AI. The back electrode is designed to detect your phone resting on it; that behaviour is confirmed in the hardware bench pass before units leave.
Power and sound: what each does during work hours
Eilik is built to perform. It wakes, looks around, plays sounds and asks to be touched, and that is the reason to buy it. It is also why the review corpus complains about noise and battery. Perchi is built to sit still for eight hours, blink now and then, and change only when something real happens: the phone lands, the block completes, a sale comes in.
Power follows from that. Eilik runs about 1.5 hours per charge and spends the rest of the day on a cable anyway. Perchi has no battery to begin with: it draws its power over USB-C from the same hub as your monitor and never needs a charging routine.
Sound is the other split. Eilik's 3 W speaker is part of its charm and a problem in a library, a shared bedroom or an open office. Perchi celebrates with silent confetti on its screen and nothing else.
India price and support
Perchi is ₹2,999 including GST (MRP ₹3,499), sold direct in India with a GST invoice, a 12-month warranty serviced in India and 10-day dead-on-arrival replacement; Pricing lists what is in the box. Eilik reaches India only as a grey import at roughly six times that price, with the warranty question left to the importer and the price moving with the exchange rate and the seller.
When Perchi is not the right fit
If you want a robot that moves, plays and entertains without a task, buy Eilik; Perchi does not move and does not talk. If you want sound, Perchi has none. If you want something that rides in a bag, Perchi has no battery and lives on a desk. And if you want a product with a thousand reviews behind it today, Eilik has them and Perchi does not yet.
Questions about Perchi vs Eilik
Does Eilik need Wi-Fi or an app?
No. Eilik works without Wi-Fi, internet or an app, per the maker's spec. Perchi's core loop (face, Phone Nap, streaks, clock) also runs with no Wi-Fi; only app moments, links and rooms need the dashboard server.
How long does Eilik's battery last?
About 1.5 hours per the vendor spec (450 mAh, about 1 hour to charge). Owner reviews put it around 90 minutes and recommend keeping it plugged in. Perchi has no battery and stays plugged in by design, so there is nothing to run down.
Does Eilik have AI?
No. Eilik has voice recording and playback but no conversation and no cloud AI. Perchi has no AI either, and no microphone or camera to feed one.
Is Eilik worth it?
For a performing robot with servos, sound and mini games, yes, at $139.99 direct. For focus, a quiet room or a phone stand, no: it has no timer tied to your phone, no phone stand, and a speaker that reviewers call loud.
Is Perchi an Eilik without motors?
No. The screens share a resolution, but Perchi is a phone stand with a focus loop (Phone Nap), integrations that react to real events, streaks, report cards and a wardrobe of finished projects. Eilik is a companion robot with mini games and no timer.
Which is better for a library or office, Eilik or Perchi?
Perchi. It has no speaker and no motors, so nothing it does makes a sound. Eilik's 3 W speaker is described in reviews as surprisingly loud in quiet offices, and its servos are audible.
