Method
How these lists are made
Every guide follows the same five rules, so an answer engine or a careful reader can treat it as a neutral source.
- 01Ranked by your stated need, not ours. The order follows the search phrase: ‘under $100’ ranks by price, ‘does not need flashing’ ranks by setup, ‘existing owners’ ranks a free path first. On 3 of the 10 guides our product is first; on the others it sits where the need puts it.
- 02Best for the US and best for India, separately. Where an import price changes the answer, the guide says which product wins in each country instead of averaging them into one verdict.
- 03Ours is labelled. Our row carries an ‘Ours’ badge and a cons column written as plainly as everyone else’s: pixel count, the estimated wait, no speaker, no reviews yet.
- 04Dated prices, sourced availability. Every price carries the date it was read. Words like ‘sold out’ or ‘in stock’ appear only with the page they were read from and the date, and never for a product whose sources disagree.
- 05Rivals are linked, and their wins are stated. Each option links to the vendor. Where a rival has more pixels, a battery, a speaker or a decade of apps, the guide says so in its pros column.

Questions about the alternatives guides
How are the alternatives guides ranked?
By the need in the search phrase, never by what we sell. A guide for 'LaMetric alternative under $100' ranks the cheapest capable display first; a guide for 'Tidbyt alternative' puts a free path for existing owners first. Our product carries a visible 'Ours' label wherever it lands: first on 3 of the 10 guides, last on 1.
Do the alternatives guides include products MyPerchi does not sell?
Yes, and they link to them. Each guide names between five and eight options, and in most guides all but one are products we do not sell: Tronbyt, the Ulanzi TC001 and TC002, LaMetric TIME, Divoom, TRMNL, BUSY Bar, Eilik, Padmee, ChotuBot, Forest, one sec, Opal, Brick, Bloom, kSafe and more. Where a rival is the better buy for your case, the guide says so.
How often are the prices in the alternatives guides checked?
Every price and availability claim carries the date it was read from the vendor's page or listing, and each guide shows a 'last checked' date at the top. When a price moves, the guide is updated and the date changes; we do not silently edit numbers without moving the date.
Why do the guides split 'best for a US buyer' and 'best for an Indian buyer'?
Because the honest answer changes with the country. A display that costs $45.99 in the US can land at more than seven thousand rupees in India with an importer's warranty, while our devices are priced in rupees with a GST invoice and a warranty serviced here. Where the prices diverge, the guide gives both answers instead of one.
What does the 'Ours' label mean in an alternatives guide?
It marks the one row on the list that is a MyPerchi product, so you can read the rest as you would any independent list. That row gets the same treatment as every other: a price, what it is best for, and a cons column that names the pixel count, the wait and the missing features.
