Weather on your desk
The Weather app shows the current temperature and conditions for your location on Perchi Matrix, with wind and humidity as other layouts, from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's forecast, updated every 30 minutes. It needs no account: enter your coordinates, which are rounded to about 1 kilometre before they are sent. Celsius or Fahrenheit follows the display setting.

What it shows
What does the Weather app show?
Current temperature and conditions for your location from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, updated every 30 minutes, no account needed.
The default layout shows the temperature in yellow with a conditions icon; wind speed and humidity are outputs of the same app for other layouts, including a HUM label in blue. The data is the Locationforecast service of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway), a public forecast published under CC BY 4.0 with worldwide coverage, refreshed every 30 minutes.
There is no account and no API key: you enter latitude and longitude, and the coordinates are rounded to two decimals, about 1 kilometre, before they are sent, so the service never learns your exact address and every display within the same square shares one request. Celsius or Fahrenheit follows the display's temperature unit setting.
Paired with the Clock app it becomes the pixel clock with weather that people search for: time in one turn of the playlist, temperature in the next, both with no sign-in. The attribution MET Norway shows in the dashboard as the licence requires.
How it connects
What do you need to connect Weather?
No account: a public handle. Nothing: your latitude and longitude, rounded to about 1 km before they are sent.
No sign-in, no key, no account with the provider. It is one of the 37 apps in the no-account list, so it works from the minute the display is paired.
Speed
How fast does Weather update?
Every 30 minutes, which is how often MET Norway's forecast updates. One request serves every display in the same rounded square. Stale after 2 hours without a fresh value, expired after 24.
Style
How does Weather look on the matrix?
Temperature in yellow beside a conditions icon is the default; a plain temperature and a HUM humidity layout in blue are the alternatives. Thresholds can turn the number blue below 15 or red above 35 degrees.
The preview at the top of this page is the default Weather scene on a 24x8 Perchi Matrix, reading 31. The apps page explains how freshness badges work, and the Perchi Matrix page lists every font, colour and effect in the style panel.
On Perchi
What does Perchi do with Weather?
On Perchi the temperature is a card beside the face. Add a rain or snow effect and the face goes sleepy when it plays; the moods follow the effects, so the weather can set the tone of the desk.
A moment is Perchi's reaction to a real event: the face changes mood first, then a small card with the value slides in beside it and the face returns. Moments queue three deep, never interrupt a Phone Nap stage change, and wait silently during a block when do-not-disturb is on (the default). See which real events Perchi celebrates and how Phone Nap works.

Honest limits

Questions about Weather
Specific to this app. The general questions (do I need an app, does it work offline, what does a reservation cost) live on the pages that own them.
Where does the weather data come from?
From MET Norway's Locationforecast, the public forecast service of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, which covers the whole world and is published under the CC BY 4.0 licence. The attribution the licence requires is shown in the dashboard.
Does the weather app know my exact location?
No. You type a latitude and longitude, and the app rounds them to two decimals, about 1 kilometre, before any request is made, so the forecast service never receives your exact address. Every display in the same square shares one request.
Can it show Fahrenheit?
Yes. The display's temperature unit setting switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit and the app follows it; the conversion happens before the number is drawn.
Does the weather app show a forecast?
Not yet. It shows the current temperature, conditions, wind and humidity from the forecast's present hour; a multi-day forecast does not fit a 24x8 matrix and is not built.
Can I make a pixel clock with weather?
Yes. Install the Clock app and the Weather app on the same display and the playlist rotates them, or schedule the weather for the morning and the clock for the rest of the day. Neither needs an account.
Does rain change Perchi's mood?
It can. Give the app a rain or snow effect on change and the mood follows the effect: rain and snow make Perchi sleepy, while the temperature sits on the card beside the face. Without an effect the weather is a calm card only.
