Pixel clock on your desk
The Clock app is Perchi Matrix's pixel clock: the device keeps its own time, so the clock keeps running when Wi-Fi drops, in 12- or 24-hour format, drawn in a font that fits 6 digits across the 24x8 matrix. Brightness follows a schedule, a night window with a warm tint and quiet hours that turn the display off.

What it shows
What does the Clock app show?
The local time, drawn by the device itself, so the pixel clock keeps running offline in 12- or 24-hour format.
The clock is drawn by the display from its own time zone setting, not by a server, which is why it keeps running when the internet drops and comes back before the Wi-Fi does after a restart. At 24x8 the time is drawn in the tiny 3x5 font that fits 6 digits, so HH:mm sits clear in the middle; on 16-pixel-tall displays the large 7x16 digits take over. The 12- or 24-hour format follows the display's Clock format setting.
A pixel clock lives on a desk all day and all night, so the brightness settings matter more than for any other app: a manual level, an automatic level between a minimum and a maximum, a night window with its own level and a warm or red tint, and quiet hours that turn the display off. A one-pixel shift and the brightness cap protect the LEDs.
Together with the Date, Weather and Countdown apps it is the no-account starter set the dashboard suggests on first pairing. As a smart pixel clock it costs ₹4,499 in India with a local warranty, against the Ulanzi TC001 at ₹7,790 on Amazon.in (checked 2026-09-18); there is no battery inside, which is the trade-off.
How it connects
What do you need to connect Clock?
No account needed. Nothing. Set the time zone and clock format once in the display settings.
No sign-in, no key, no account with the provider. It is one of the 37 apps in the no-account list, so it works from the minute the display is paired.
Speed
How fast does Clock update?
Continuous: the device draws every second from its own clock. No server, no polling, no data to go stale.
Style
How does Clock look on the matrix?
HH:mm in the tiny 3x5 font at 24x8, centred, in the colour you pick (a fixed colour, a theme colour, a gradient or rainbow), with a slow one-pixel shift that protects the LEDs. On 16-pixel-tall displays the large 7x16 digits are used.
The preview at the top of this page is the default Clock scene on a 24x8 Perchi Matrix, reading 6:45. The apps page explains how freshness badges work, and the Perchi Matrix page lists every font, colour and effect in the style panel.
On Perchi
What does Perchi do with Clock?
Perchi does not need this app for a clock: after 10 quiet minutes it enters clock mode by itself, with big digits, the date and your streak. The Clock app can still be a card beside the face.
A moment is Perchi's reaction to a real event: the face changes mood first, then a small card with the value slides in beside it and the face returns. Moments queue three deep, never interrupt a Phone Nap stage change, and wait silently during a block when do-not-disturb is on (the default). See which real events Perchi celebrates and how Phone Nap works.
Setup
Set up Clock in three steps
Everything happens in the web dashboard from any browser; there is no app to install on your phone and no account wall before the first pixel.
- STEP 1
Set the time zone
In the display settings pick your time zone and 12- or 24-hour format. Done once.
- STEP 2
Install Clock
It is the first app the dashboard suggests; install it and it shows within seconds.
- STEP 3
Set night and quiet hours
Give it a night window with a warm tint and quiet hours for when you sleep.
Honest limits
Where does Clock stop?
What the provider, the hardware or our own roadmap does not allow yet, stated before you reserve rather than after.
Questions about Clock
Specific to this app. The general questions (do I need an app, does it work offline, what does a reservation cost) live on the pages that own them.
Is Perchi Matrix a smart pixel clock?
Yes, among other things: the Clock app makes it a Wi-Fi pixel clock that keeps time on the device, dims on a schedule and turns off in quiet hours, and the other 71 apps rotate in the same playlist. It is sold in India with a local warranty and a GST invoice.
Does the clock keep time when Wi-Fi drops?
Yes. The device keeps its own clock from its time zone setting, so the time keeps ticking through an outage and is back before the Wi-Fi is after a restart. Only apps that need fresh data from a server go stale.
Can the clock show 12-hour time?
Yes. The display's Clock format setting switches between 24-hour and 12-hour, and the clock app follows it; at 24x8 the time is drawn as h:mm in the tiny font.
How do I stop the pixel clock lighting up the bedroom at night?
Set a night window with a low level and a warm or red tint, or quiet hours that turn the display off completely between two times. Both are in the display's brightness settings and apply to every app, not only the clock.
Can the clock and the weather share the display?
Yes. Install both and the playlist rotates them, each for the time you set, or give the clock the night and the weather the morning with a schedule. Neither needs an account.
Does Perchi have a clock too?
Yes. Perchi switches to clock mode after 10 quiet minutes: big digits, the date and your streak in the corner, dimmed to protect the OLED. The Clock app is also in Perchi's app library.
