What does the Stripe sales today app show?
Today's Stripe revenue and number of payments with a cha-ching animation per sale, reconciled with Stripe every 15 minutes.
The display shows revenue since midnight in your workspace time zone with a TODAY label, or the Stripe icon beside the amount, or the plain number of payments. A successful payment intent, a completed Checkout session or a paid invoice adds to the totals the moment Stripe sends the webhook and plays a cha-ching animation with the amount; a refund is subtracted just as quickly.
Authentication is a restricted API key (rk_live_ or rk_test_) with read access to balance transactions; secret keys are refused outright, so the display can never move money or read customer records. Add write access to webhook endpoints and the automation registers itself in Stripe; otherwise you paste the automation URL and Stripe's signing secret by hand. The key is stored encrypted per record and masked after saving.
Every 15 minutes the app re-reads the day's balance transactions and replaces the running counters with Stripe's exact figures, so a missed webhook never leaves the number wrong. A second app, Stripe sales (Stripe App), does the same through the MyPerchi app in Stripe's marketplace with a sign-in instead of a key; it is waiting on Stripe's review.

In the Stripe Dashboard, Developers, API keys: create a restricted key with read on Balance transactions (and, optionally, write on Webhook endpoints).

Which Stripe key does the sales app need?
A restricted key (rk_live_ for real sales, rk_test_ for testing) with read access to balance transactions. Add write access to webhook endpoints if you want the automation to register the webhook for you. Secret keys are refused, so the app can never charge, refund or read customers.
Does the Stripe app subtract refunds?
Yes. A charge.refunded event subtracts the refund from today's revenue the moment Stripe sends it, and the 15-minute reconcile of the day's balance transactions keeps the total exact.
What happens if a Stripe webhook is missed?

Does it show revenue in my Stripe currency?
Yes. Revenue is reported in your Stripe account's settlement currency, with the currency code as an output you can show, and the number style (thousands, compact, Indian) is yours to choose in the app's style.
Can I show only the number of sales, not the amount?
Yes. The sales count is a separate layout, so a display in a shared office can show 23 SALES without the revenue. The cha-ching text can also be changed to hide the amount.
