What it shows
What does the Razorpay payments app show?
Announces every captured UPI and Razorpay payment with a cha-ching animation and keeps today's total, which resets at midnight.
Every payment Razorpay captures reaches the display in under a second: a cha-ching animation and ₹499 RECEIVED, then back to the day's total. Today's collected amount and the number of payments are the app's outputs, in the Indian number style (1.5L, 3Cr) by default, and both start again at midnight in your workspace time zone. A payment through a QR code or an order is also a captured payment, so it is announced once and counted once.
There is no API key to create. In the Razorpay Dashboard you add a webhook with the automation URL the app gives you, a secret of your choice and the payment.captured event (qr_code.credited and order.paid are optional). Every delivery is checked against that secret and against Razorpay's per-event id, so a replayed or duplicated delivery changes nothing. The app reads the amount, currency, method and time of the payment, nothing else: no card number, no UPI id, no customer name.
A UPI soundbox announces one payment provider's QR payments, needs a SIM and charges rent: the Paytm Soundbox is ₹1 for the device plus ₹125 a month (paytmmall.com, checked 2026-09-18). Perchi Matrix at ₹4,499 announces your online Razorpay payments with no SIM, no rental and no sound, and shows your YouTube count in the next slot of the playlist. It does not announce in-store scans of another provider's QR.

What do you need to connect Razorpay payments?
Paste a webhook URL. Paste one webhook URL and a secret of your choice into the Razorpay Dashboard for the payment.captured event. No API key.
A webhook only ever flows one way, from the provider to MyPerchi: the provider signs each delivery with the secret you set, duplicates are answered and ignored, and the delivery log keeps 7 days of history. The developers page covers presets, filters and limits.

How fast does Razorpay payments update?
Webhook: a captured payment is on the display in under a second, over the signed WebSocket every display keeps open. There is no polling, so the number is exactly what Razorpay has sent; if your account has no payment for a day the total dims, and after 7 days it reads --.

How does Razorpay payments look on the matrix?
TODAY above the collected amount in Indian style (₹12,499 or ₹1.5L) is the default; the Razorpay icon beside the amount and a plain count of payments are the other two layouts. Each payment plays cha-ching with {{display}} RECEIVED, which you can change to any short text or another of the 14 effects.

Setup
Set up Razorpay payments in three steps
Everything happens in the web dashboard from any browser; there is no app to install on your phone and no account wall before the first pixel.

Install and copy the URL
Install Razorpay payments on your display. The app's automation page shows a webhook URL and lets you set a secret.

Add the webhook in Razorpay
Razorpay Dashboard, Settings, Webhooks: paste the URL, enter the same secret, tick payment.captured (and qr_code.credited, order.paid if you like).

Send a test payment
Use Razorpay's test mode or a ₹1 payment. The display plays cha-ching and the total updates; the delivery log shows every event.

Questions about Razorpay payments
Specific to this app. The general questions (do I need an app, does it work offline, what does a reservation cost) live on the pages that own them.
Do I need a Razorpay API key?
No. The app works from a webhook only: you paste the automation URL and a secret you choose into the Razorpay Dashboard and select the payment.captured event. No key with access to your account is created or stored anywhere.
Does the device see card or UPI details?
No. Razorpay's webhook carries the amount, currency, payment method and time, and that is all the app reads; the delivery is checked with the secret you set and the per-event id Razorpay sends. No card number, UPI id, phone number or customer name ever reaches MyPerchi or the display.
Does the Razorpay app announce UPI payments?
Yes. Any payment Razorpay captures is announced, whether the customer paid by UPI, card, net banking or wallet, including payments through a Razorpay QR code or a Payment Link. Each is announced once, even when Razorpay also sends qr_code.credited or order.paid for it.
Can it replace a soundbox?
For online payments, yes, silently: every captured Razorpay payment is announced within a second with a cha-ching animation, with no SIM, no monthly rental and no sound. It does not announce in-store QR scans on another provider's app, so a shop counter still needs that provider's box.
Does the Razorpay app show a daily total?
Yes. Today's collected amount and the number of payments are the app's two values, drawn in the Indian number style by default (1.5L, 3Cr), and both reset at midnight in your workspace time zone.
Can it stay quiet at night?
Yes. Quiet hours in the display settings turn the display off between the times you set; payments that land during quiet hours are still counted in the total, but their celebrations are not shown. A night window can also dim the display with a warm tint instead.
