What it shows
What does the Instagram followers app show?
Follower, following and post counts of your Instagram Business or Creator account, with a heart burst on new followers. Built, and waiting on Meta app review.
Once connected, the follower count shows beside the Instagram icon in Instagram's own pink, refreshed every 15 minutes (5 minutes at the fastest), and every new follower plays a heart burst with +N FOLLOWERS. Following and post counts are outputs of the same app for other layouts, and the username is available for a custom one.
Instagram's Graph API only exposes follower counts for professional accounts, so the app works with a Business or Creator account and signs in through Meta with two permissions: basic profile and insights. Switching a personal account to Creator is free and takes under a minute in the Instagram app; every counter device on the market has the same rule, because Meta has no other way to read the number.
The app is built and tested with our own accounts, but Meta's App Review and Business Verification have not yet granted it advanced access, so only accounts with a role on our Meta app can connect today. Until Meta approves, the app is labelled coming after provider approval in the store and on this page, and we do not sell it as available.
How it connects
What do you need to connect Instagram followers?
Sign in with the provider. Sign in with Meta from an Instagram Business or Creator account. Not available until Meta app review is complete.
Keys, tokens and links are tested against the provider before they are saved, stored encrypted per record, masked after saving and never shown again. Revoke them at the provider any time; the app simply stops. The security page lists what we have and have not done.
Speed
How fast does Instagram followers update?
Polled every 15 minutes by default, 5 minutes at the fastest, with a long-lived Meta token the connections module refreshes for you. Counts can lag Instagram by a few minutes. Stale after an hour without a response, expired after 24 hours.

How does Instagram followers look on the matrix?
Follower count in Instagram pink beside the Instagram icon, compact (12.5K) or Indian (1.2L) number style, or a label layout without the icon. New followers play a heart burst with +N FOLLOWERS; milestones and up to 4 threshold rules work like every other counter.

Can I display my Instagram follower count without giving my password?
Yes. You sign in through Meta's own login page, which grants MyPerchi a token limited to reading your professional account's profile and insights; your password never reaches us, and you can revoke the token from Instagram at any time. This is the only way any follower counter can read the number, because Instagram has no public follower API.
Does an Instagram follower counter need a Business or Creator account?
Yes, every one of them. Meta's Graph API exposes followers_count only for professional accounts, so Smiirl, LaMetric, DISPLIX and Perchi Matrix all require a Business or Creator account. Switching a personal account is free and reversible.
How do I switch my Instagram account to Creator?
In the Instagram app open Settings, then Account type and tools, then Switch to professional account, and choose Creator (or Business). It takes under a minute, costs nothing, and your posts and followers are unchanged. You can switch back later.
Why is the Instagram counter marked coming after provider approval?
Because Meta has not yet completed App Review and Business Verification for the MyPerchi app, and until it does only accounts with a role on our Meta app can connect. The app itself is built and tested; we label it as pending rather than sell it as available.
How far behind Instagram can the follower count be?
By up to the refresh interval plus Instagram's own delay: the app polls every 15 minutes (5 at the fastest) and Meta's counts can lag the app by a few minutes. A freshness badge shows how old the number is.
Can the Instagram followers app show my following and post counts?
Yes. Followers is the primary value, but following, posts and the username are outputs of the same app, so you can pick a layout that shows any of them or build a custom one with two numbers.
